Head teacher’s blog – 27.09.19
It has been a busy week here with all classes working hard in all areas of the curriculum. In Celebration Worship this morning, children from all classes showed some great writing which has already taken place this year. Our new Reception children also shared their rendition of The Little Red Hen. I have been told it was a great success!
Mrs O’Bray and I attended the first Maths Mastery Working Group meeting this morning at Ryecroft Middle School in Rocester. This is a great opportunity for us to reflect on how we teach Maths and learn from advanced skills teachers. Over the next 2 years, we will be attending these meetings and undertaking in-school training which aims to develop the mastery approach in Maths. I will be keen to share these developments with you and hear your views on the impact this has on your children’s learning.
We were visited by Mrs Matthews on Thursday who told the children all about the history of the Brailsford Ploughing Match. This assembly helped children to understand, more deeply, the significance to our local community of this historic event. We are all looking forward to next Wednesday – don’t forget your wellies!
